Wireless Internet is awesome-especially since I can sit on my front porch in this awesome weather with my computer.
Dudes should not be allowed to wear jean shorts-like ever.
The year is almost half over-have I even started my New Year's Resolution?
The people that live across from me have a super creepy backyard-and I can hear a dude talking on the phone back there, yet I can't see him-even creepier.
People that you knew in High School that don't accept your friend request on facebook suck. Do they seriously still think they are cooler than me now? I mean, grow up people and get over yourself. I only asked you to be my friend so I could see your private profile anyway.
Short weeks go by slower than 5 day weeks, why?
Sometimes at work I stare at my computer and seriously think about unplugging my phone and/or throwing it out the window. Is this normal? Ya, I thought so.
My Raspberry ice tea from DD is gone now...and I am sad. I think that is a sign to end this blog for now.

Tired, but not too tired
So after doing half days of work for the past 4 days, I am sooooo tired. I know that it may sound ridiculous and I thought so too when the doctor told me I would be tired, but she was for real....haha. I am exhausted.
I have not gone grocery shopping for let's see, 5 weeks now. So I decided that today after resting up, I would hit the grocery store. Because I do want to eventually eat food that once lived in my house, rather than a fast food place, restaurant or my parent's house!
After having a good 4 weeks to watch cooking shows on T.V., at the store this evening I decided that I would purchase things that I would have never thought before. I even purchased spices and salt and pepper...I know!!
So next weekend and for the rest of this week, there will be no ordering or going out. I am going to cook cook cook. I may have to eventually purchase a Rachel Ray 30 min cookbook, but I can totally pull it off for the time being:)

4 weeks
I honestly can't believe how fast these past 4 weeks have gone by. Four weeks ago I had my surgery and today I am dreading going back to work Wednesday. It is amazing how much better four weeks can make you feel as well. I still get tired and have a little pain in the tummy but unfortunately I feel OK enough to start back at the grind..haha
On a complete side note. NKOTB tickets go on sale today yo. Get ready! hahaha

I have issues
As many of you know, I have been spending the past weeks at my parents house. When staying here, I sleep in the room that I grew up in (of course). And because my Mom is the cutest ever, my room is almost exactly the way I left it; except for her clothes that have found there way into my closet.
Anyway, last night I couldn't sleep and I was reading a book in bed. For some reason I glanced over to the book shelf that is directly next to the bed and found a journal with dates that started 10/3/97....that's right 11 years ago! So what do I do? I pick up the journal and start reading. OMG. I couldn't stop! After reading several entries and laughing at the fact that my writing and my personality really haven't changed that much in 11 years, I discovered that this was a continuation, there was a part one somewhere. So at 1AM I got up, looked around and found the part 1. I also found a journal that was dated 2002-2003 and had only 3 entries (but they all had to do with a certain someone that I "dated" and that ruined my life. So...I went ahead and read them....what was I thinking back then..haha..I obviously wasn't.
I know there has to be another journal around my room somewhere as well, because I couldn't find many entries that I remember writing in the ones that I did find. Maybe I will look around tonight for the other one.
But like I said I am exactly the same as I was back in the day:
1. I was still totally embarrassed that I blushed, or rather, turned candy apple red.
2. I was obsessed with trying to lose weight (umm..back then I was about 40 lbs lighter than today, so I am not sure what I was thinking!!)
3. I was a complete stress ball (yup, that has not changed).
4. I still hung out with many of the same people I hang out with today (strange, except for the my awesome college friends, but I hadn't met you guys yet!!).
5. Every night I say that I don't want to go to work, every night back then I said I didn't want to go to school..haha.
I can't believe I had the motivation to write in a journal almost every day back then. I can't get myself to write in my blog even close to that!

So I was thinking about it....
and even though I have the photos of the "Alien Baby", I am not sure it is a good idea to post them here. I have shown them to a few people and if you haven't seen them and you are curious, let me know and I will email you the photos. They aren't really gross, but to think that they were inside of them is kind of gross, haha.
In other news, I am feeling so much better than I was last week. Almost two weeks down and I am excited that an end is in sight for feeling like myself again. I know that I won't feel 100% for a few months, but I am so happy that I am seeing that feeling better is a possibility.
It is strange to be able to stick in my stomach and I actually feel a bit empty. I know that is strange, but if having a large ball in you stomach for so long and then all of a sudden having it not be there is great, but really odd. Once the swelling goes down, hopefully I will even feel thinner than I was before, even if it doesn't show on the scales....
I have learned a few things being off of work for the last few weeks though:
-Ellen is a great show. I wish that it was on demand so I could watch it when I am working (I don't have tivo).
-The food network is totally addictive.
-So far the days have been flying by and I am scared for next week, because once I start to feel better I think the days will be dragging (especially since I can't drive until at least May 6th:(
-It was either work or the surgery that were giving me high blood pressure. Because no work and surgery over and my blood pressure is magically fine, hmmm?
-Not driving is wicked annoying, especially if you want a DD coffee...haha
So anyway, an end is in sight. Hope all is well with everyone else out there.

I never thought I would say this...
But I think I would rather be at work. I know that is sick and twisted, but the past week is not what I thought it would be. I thought that I would be in pain (of course) and that I would be tired, but I did not sign up for the hot flashes, the nausea, the feeling like I want to die?! I know, I haven't wanted to watch T.V., sleep late, or even play online. I have been up each morning at 4:45, wishes that this pain and nausea would go away.
Well....starting at about 4PM today, I started to feel a little better and decided to pop online and crawl out from under the blanket.
I am crossing my fingers that tomorrow is a good a day. Maybe I will be able to return some calls and emails and maybe try to be somewhat normal for a day..hahah

Home at Last
So as many of you probably heard, I made it through my surgery and I am officially Alien Baby free! My two main fears were not waking up from the general anesthesia and getting nauseous after the surgery. Well, I did wake, thank god. I also happened to know the nurse anthesisit that was helping in the OR, so that was good. I told him I was afraid of throwing up and he put a patch behind my ear that was meant to cure nauseous and it totally worked.
So, the hospital stay was very strange, but I got to leave on Wednesday so only two nights there. I was NOT letting them keep me longer than that!!
Now that I am home I feel OK. I know I said that as long as I woke up the pain wouldn't bother me. HAHA. Well, it is really painful, I have to walk like an 200 year old woman all hunched over. The worst part is getting up for laying down or a sitting position. And of course riding in the car, laughing, blowing my nose or coughing..haha..fun times!
It took me a good 4 days to even look at the incision. My tummy is so swollen and numb that I was scared to find out what it looked like. It actually isn't that bad. It still has steri strips all over it so I can't even see the stitches, which is great.
So right now, I am just praying that the pain and swelling will go down so I actually wear jeans again and be able to walk normal. I am tired a lot and I am still running a small fever, which I guess is totally normal after a surgery like this one. At least I am on the road to recovery.
I am still waiting for the picture of the HUGE fibroid that they took out. I guess they got it out in one piece which is awesome. The pathologist took a pic of it with a ruler in front so I could see how big it is. They actually removed 6 smaller ones too...but since I didn't know they were there I really don't care if I get those photos or not.
So ya, I popped my 5 pills this morning, I am drinking coffe and watching Ellen. The next step for me is getting back to my own house which will be good. I just need to be able to walk up stairs. Hopefully I will be there by next weekend.!!
So that's the update. If I ever get that picture, I will totally post it!

Car Update 39408402398420384203

I know you were all holding your breathe waiting for the new car update. Well, because of the annoyance my car has given me I did go out looking at cars last weekend. I wasn't too excited about any of the cars I looked and I really am not that excited about a car payment again, so I decided to have the mechanic look at the care ONE MORE TIME.
So, the called in the BIG guns, Volkswagen that is. And it turns out that the diagnostic machine that they were using to check my "check engine" light was not resetting the light in my car and was also showing the same errors each time.
So it turns out that nothing was wrong with my car, it was the shop. Good thing that the last 4 times I brought my car in they didn't charge me.
I am not going to jinx it, but hopefully my car will be OK for a while.
While over a good friend's house last week, she busted out a box of old letters, postcards, pictures etc. Inside the box was a letter that I wrote to her dated Sept. 1998. I was a freshman in college and I actually sat down and wrote a letter. I honestly can't believe that just 10 years ago, I actually took the time, to bust out paper, a pen, an envelope and a stamp, no spell check, no second chances, and wrote a letter.....
This actually made me think that I honestly am not sure I could do that today. I have gotten used to being able to delete words, re-write sentences and SPELL CHECK.

The letter was pretty hilarious, I forgot what an awesome (not) time I had the first few days of college. It was great blast from the past. But it was also a very eye opening experience about how much I rely on technology now. Back in college, I didn't use email very often, I didn't have a cell phone and I obviously communicated by letter..haha.
Freshman year would have been so awesome if Myspace, Blogs and cell phones were in my life!!!

For those non believers.........
Well as many of you recall back in 2007, December 27th to be exact, I posted some Quick Random Gossip that I had heard from a good friend. The gossip was that NKOTB would be back and you heard it, they totally are!
As I was riding home from work yesterday "Hanging Tough" was playing on the radio. I texted messaged the friend who told me about this gossip back in December and I think she summed it up quite well. The text message that I got back said, "AMEN!!!"

Update of Sorts
I met with my surgeon today for my pre-op with her. Although 3 weeks away from surgery, this will be the last visit with her until she cuts me open. haha.
Anyway, I am still have some slight doubts about the decisions that I have made.
1. She mentioned again how large my uterus is, and that it appears to be even bigger. She asked me again why I didn't want to go on the drug Lupron and mentioned another drug that I could take that might work in about 2 weeks. Well, I don't really feel like experiencing menopause before my time and I am already emotional as it is, no need to up that!
2. Because of before mentioned GINORMOUS uterus she will have to make a vertical incision from ny naval down to above the pelvic bone. Most people get a tiny bikini line cute, that you can't see once hair grows back. Ya, not me. (Should I be regretting the no Lupron, shit).
3. She is brining in a colleage of hers from Boston that is also a fertility specialist and specializes in fibroids (because my stomach is so huge, jk..well maybe?). This definately made me feel better, but also kind of scared me a little bit. At least I know I will be in good hands.
4. Another good thing is that, her consent form did not include death. It did however include, blood transfusions, hysterectomy and a bunch of other fun stuff. I can't wait to see what the hospital consent forms say...haha
Well, the good thing is, I moved my post op appointment to 3 weeks after surgery in hopes that I will be able to return to work after 4 weeks. She said that the surgery should take about 2.5 hours, disolvable stiches (pretty sweet), and that I would be able to come home after 2 days in the hospital.
Overall an interseting day for me. It definitely made it a lot more real for me. I am definately excited to get it over with:)

Random, but a must see
A good friend of mine sent this to me...you have to check this out. CREEEPY!!
It is called...TERROR GNOME!!!

In Other News....
Fear of Hospital Stays
A lot of people have strange fears and I definitely have a few myself. Along with surgery comes the fear of pain and the fear of flat lining on the table (yes a legitimate fear of mine and I yes I have watched WAY too many hospital dramas). But I also have a fear of staying in the hospital for a few, well, really good reasons.
1. I have to wear that creepy hospital gown with no butt (fairly obvious).
2. The catheter (enough said).
3. Sleeping in the same room as three random, potentially old and cranky people.
4. Not being able to sleep, staring at the ceiling, while previously mentioned old people are hacking up a lung. OR, being in complete silence with that annoying hospital beep going in the background. What does that beep mean anyway?
5. People coming to visit me, while I look like hell, in my awesome hospital gown.
6. Getting a sponge bath...ewwwwww.
7. No computer, no email and no cell phone (wtf).
8. People constantly asking me on a scale from 1-10 how bad the pain is.
9. Did I mention the catheter??? Oh, ya, getting it taken out. ewwww.
10. ALL THE ABOVE!!!

Car Updated
So I brought my car into the shop again on Friday and it was another sensor. The dude told me that typically the sensor's last until about 150,000 miles. However, my first sensor went a few months ago and he thought it was a fluke, so he didn't replace the other one because of this. So...he replaced my other sensor (no charge for labor yay) and he said that my car is really good shape and should last a long time more. SO..I am going to hold on the new car for two years, only if the damn check engine light doesn't go on again!!
