Home at Last

So as many of you probably heard, I made it through my surgery and I am officially Alien Baby free! My two main fears were not waking up from the general anesthesia and getting nauseous after the surgery. Well, I did wake, thank god. I also happened to know the nurse anthesisit that was helping in the OR, so that was good. I told him I was afraid of throwing up and he put a patch behind my ear that was meant to cure nauseous and it totally worked.

So, the hospital stay was very strange, but I got to leave on Wednesday so only two nights there. I was NOT letting them keep me longer than that!!

Now that I am home I feel OK. I know I said that as long as I woke up the pain wouldn't bother me. HAHA. Well, it is really painful, I have to walk like an 200 year old woman all hunched over. The worst part is getting up for laying down or a sitting position. And of course riding in the car, laughing, blowing my nose or coughing..haha..fun times!

It took me a good 4 days to even look at the incision. My tummy is so swollen and numb that I was scared to find out what it looked like. It actually isn't that bad. It still has steri strips all over it so I can't even see the stitches, which is great.

So right now, I am just praying that the pain and swelling will go down so I actually wear jeans again and be able to walk normal. I am tired a lot and I am still running a small fever, which I guess is totally normal after a surgery like this one. At least I am on the road to recovery.

I am still waiting for the picture of the HUGE fibroid that they took out. I guess they got it out in one piece which is awesome. The pathologist took a pic of it with a ruler in front so I could see how big it is. They actually removed 6 smaller ones too...but since I didn't know they were there I really don't care if I get those photos or not.

So ya, I popped my 5 pills this morning, I am drinking coffe and watching Ellen. The next step for me is getting back to my own house which will be good. I just need to be able to walk up stairs. Hopefully I will be there by next weekend.!!

So that's the update. If I ever get that picture, I will totally post it!
