Meet Hanna

The newest Tropical Storm that has formed in the Atlantic Ocean. I know most people wouldn't be paying too much attention to this storm yet, especially since it is so far away from land at this time, however, many think that this storm will became a category 3 hurricane and possible hit land next weekend. One of the potential landing spots is Florida. Now, I will be heading down there next weekend...AWESOME! I know I was taking a chance going to Florida during huricane season, but I wasn't banking on a hurricane every week in the month of September. SUPER.

Oh well, it is still about a week away from reaching land and who knows what path it will decide to take. All I know is that Florida appears to be surrounded at this time and it is kind of scary. Not only because I am upset because I will be going on vacation during either a hurrican or rain, but because it appears that Gustav is taking the same track as Katrina did and according to many of the predicted paths for Hannah, it appears that the Gulf Coast could also be hit by this one!

Totally In Weekend Mode Already

Although there is one more day in this week, I have already checked out and I am in weekend mode. This summer work has been crazy busy and although I did have a few days off this summer, it really didn't help my sanity. So I have Monday off, yay! Then, I have a four day week and then I am off to Fort Lauderdale. Because I am so excited I have already picked out about 15 things that I want to do while down there, which really doesn't leave much time for just hanging out at the hotel and the beach. I am sure once I am down there I will just be in complete vacation mode and forget about the list of things that I have planned and just take a seat next to the pool! I also hope to get a day or two of sleeping in! :)

In other news, as sad as it is, I have already started to think about Halloween! I know, I am nuts! However, I have been asked a few times when my party is going to be, so I have been forced to think about it! (do you like how I am blaming this on others? hah). So, I have the date picked out, I just need to decide on what I am going to be this year. I am not sure I can convince John to be anything too exciting, but I am going to do my best!

And lastly I just wanted to let everyone know that my car has had ZERO probably since my last disaster! So, I am holding off on the car shopping...so I can at least save my pennies for the next few months...hopefully years:)

Happy Labor Day Everyone!!

Fall Fever

OK, I know it's still August, however, I am having an intense case of fall fever. The stores are putting their Halloween/Fall stuff out and there was a little chill in the air tonight that reminded me off a fall evening. Fall is by far my favorite season and I am by no means trying to rush the last few weeks of summer, but I can't wait for the Halloween Party, apple picking, going to buy pumpkins and burning fall candles. I love it!!

Next weekend is Labor Day, the following week, John and I are going to Florida for the week, and then there will only be one more week of summer. YIKES!!

Bring on the fall!:)

To clarify the photo of me below

Ok there is a bit of discussion going on currently about the photo of me and why I am in the car and buckled up. Well, it's not really that complicated if you are me and in my head. I use my camera all the time and I forgot it in the car. It had previously been in my purse, which actually came in handy if I wanted to take a photo. So anyway, I must have taken it out and slipped it in the side pocket of the passenger's side door. John typically drives my car when we are hanging out so this wouldn't have been abnormal.

Anyway, after I received the comment about needing a photo, I decided I would take one of my new haircut, however, I could not locate my camera. I ran out to the yard (yes, I keep my car in the backyard) and first opened the driver's side door. I quickly remembered that the camera was in the passengers side. I walked over found the camera in the side pocket. I decided that I would just get in the car (use the mirror on the other side of the sun visor thingy and take the photo, which I did. I actually left the camera in the car, because I used the last photo on my memory card and decided that I would buy a larger one later that day.

Now, I have no idea why I buckled up. But I seriously have a bad habit about buckling up no matter what I am doing in the car. So I am guessing that I buckled up out of habit.

So I received enough questions about the photo that I had the desire to explain. No sure why I would have lied about this, if someone was available to have taken my photo at that time I am sure that I would have asked them to do so...

150 Miles for a Haircut?

As many of you girls out there know, changing hair dresses can be scary and traumatic. You are afraid to try someone new and at the same time you are afraid of hurting your hairdresser's feelings when they suddenly realize you haven't been there in a while. I have had the same hair dresser for literally 20 years. She is the nicest person ever, but she is never willing to experiment much with my hair. She has this thing where she can cut inches off the bottom, but styling it anyway different just isn't her thing.

Well anyway, while I was on vacation in Maine last week (yes, I was up there during every rainy day possible), I decided to break my boredom one day by getting a haircut. A woman a few cabins over wanted us to go meet her friends niece (or something like that) and she just happened to be a hair dresser up town. I thought this would be a great opportunity to try something new. She is young and probably up her modern hairstyles...

So long story short, I went there, she gasped at how thick my hair was and asked me if I have ever had my hair thinned. I said no, but I told her she could do whatever she wanted. So she thinned and layered my hair and I love it.

There was so much of my hair on the ground, that my sister and cousin (also there with me) were gasping every time she thinned it some more. I was getting a little nervous myself, especially when she told me that I would continue to have hair fall out for the next day or two and when my hair clogged their vacuum thingy..lol

But I love it! And now, I can't drive 150 miles for a haircut every time I need one, so I have to find someone new. I have been given a few suggestions, and I obviously don't need a haircut soon, but if anyone has a hip, young hairdresser that you think could keep up my awesome do...let me know! haha

Never Boring at Market Basket

As many of you know I like to shop at Market Basket. It is cheaper, a bit more ghetto and never boring. I usually head up there after work some point during the week. I hate going on the weekend because it is really busy, so I usually hang with the weeknight crowd. The last time I went I had a very interesting girl at the check out. I honestly don't remember what she was saying, however, I do remember leaving saying I HAVE to blog about that and also made a mental note to never go to her lane again.

Anyway, I went to Market Basket again tonight. I lost my mental note momentarily and got in her line. I honestly didn't even think about it until I heard her talking to the woman in front of me. I seriously thought about moving, but I was next in line and every other line were at least 6 people deep...so I stuck it out.

So you can get a mental imagine, the girl is probably 20ish about 6' tall and fairly heavy. I am not being mean in any way, but I do feel that she has a small beard growing...ok....anway, I got up to the line and I was standing directly in front of her. She says, "Long day, huh?" I said yes and asked her when she gets off work blah blah blah. Then she started talking about how she is in Law School (ok, no offense, but I can't see that), how she was going to go to Suffolk however the first case they put her on was a criminal trial and the guy was a serial killer who called himself "Hannibal Lector" and how he bit the nose off his last attorney. She said that she just couldn't take it and is now going to North Shore Community College. Now she has a friend that is on trial for first degree murder and she told her that she will be her lawyer and that she will definitely get her off. She said that her friend is really scared and she will make sure she is not convicted. There was a lot of other stuff in there as well, but I was very scared but polite and took my bag and walked away. Um....really? You are a freshman of criminal law and you seriously think I believe this? I don't even believe that you are in college..

Now, everyone please witness this mental note......never let me get in her line again. Thank you!SmileyCentral.com
