Update of Sorts

I met with my surgeon today for my pre-op with her. Although 3 weeks away from surgery, this will be the last visit with her until she cuts me open. haha.

Anyway, I am still have some slight doubts about the decisions that I have made.

1. She mentioned again how large my uterus is, and that it appears to be even bigger. She asked me again why I didn't want to go on the drug Lupron and mentioned another drug that I could take that might work in about 2 weeks. Well, I don't really feel like experiencing menopause before my time and I am already emotional as it is, no need to up that!

2. Because of before mentioned GINORMOUS uterus she will have to make a vertical incision from ny naval down to above the pelvic bone. Most people get a tiny bikini line cute, that you can't see once hair grows back. Ya, not me. (Should I be regretting the no Lupron, shit).

3. She is brining in a colleage of hers from Boston that is also a fertility specialist and specializes in fibroids (because my stomach is so huge, jk..well maybe?). This definately made me feel better, but also kind of scared me a little bit. At least I know I will be in good hands.

4. Another good thing is that, her consent form did not include death. It did however include, blood transfusions, hysterectomy and a bunch of other fun stuff. I can't wait to see what the hospital consent forms say...haha

Well, the good thing is, I moved my post op appointment to 3 weeks after surgery in hopes that I will be able to return to work after 4 weeks. She said that the surgery should take about 2.5 hours, disolvable stiches (pretty sweet), and that I would be able to come home after 2 days in the hospital.

Overall an interseting day for me. It definitely made it a lot more real for me. I am definately excited to get it over with:)
