So Sorry!!

I know that I haven't updated my blog lately and I promise to keep you more updated in the future!! Well, we finally got Internet and cable at the condo this past week and it feels good to be back in touch with my TV! I absolutely LOVE having a washer and dryer in the condo. No more lugging my laundry anywhere! I think I did like 5 loads this weekend just because I could...lol...And can we talk about a dishwasher? Why have I not had one of these great inventions before now! Sad to say I had never used one before until I moved here but I am never going back. OH ya, and a garbage disposer...WHAT!! LOVE IT!

The ony thing is I have to get used to budgeting my money better, having a mortgage is no joke people..LOL

In other news, I love the fall. Spent some quality time apple picking yesterday. And the day before that splurged and got a pumpkin spice latte.............yummy!

Now that I am getting comfy in the condo with John, I should start wedding planning! YAY. I will def keep you updated on how that is going...if only money grew on trees! hahaha.

Sunday already?

It has been quite a long week! But I did finally close on the condo on Thursday. So an empty condo is officially all mine. Definitely the most expensive set of keys that I will ever buy! I spent the weekend in Maine and bought a few things for the condo...like...a couple of lamps, some everyday dishes and some silverware. So now I just need a million other things including furniture. I never thought I would be so excited to register for the wedding..lol.

Other than that, I am spending my Sunday just like every other Sunday, dreading work tomorrow. I am also actually starting to get excited about fall as well. The Topsfield Fair, apple cider, pumpkins and Halloween! Hard to get in the fall spirit when it's like 90 degrees in the house.

So on that note, I am going to watch 30 more minutes of the Sox game and hit the hay. I will try to get over to the condo with a camera at some point!

G'night!

Quick Life Update

The condo closing date has now changed to Thursday, so hopefully Thursday evening I will be dancing around an empty condo! And I will be poor. haha. Because of the recent spending all my money on a condo process, I have not even thought about the, you have a wedding in like 9 months thing. So hopefully after getting settled into the condo I can start to plan the wedding!!

Part of the planning the wedding has to be a serious weight loss journey. I have definitely not been serious about losing weight lately, and the stress of work and everything else has been helped by eating. So I am getting back on track and heading to the gym after work tomorrow. I am so disgusted with myself that I refuse to try on a wedding dress until I feel better about myself. So hopefully they can rush order to puppies..LOL

So those are the two major items in my life right now. Work is still sick but I need to keep an income to pay for the two items above! At least I won't have any money to spend of food. Hopefully that will help in the weight loss area.

Quick Condo Update

This condo purchasing process has seriously been going on for 6 months. But the near is getting closer and closer. The close date is set for next Friday right now, and because it is happening so quickly, I have had a ton to do in a very short amount of time. Today (luckily I work at an insurance company) I ran downstairs and finalized an HO6 Policy for the condo. I have never felt more like an adult as I did purchasing coverages for a home! YIKES!!

But anyway, I think that everything is now in place. The down payment paid (yes, I am now sooo poor), the condo policy purchased and the close date set!! I should start thinking about packing, right? Oh well, not like I have that much stuff anyway.

I am excited about decorating my own place and about finally living with John:)

I will def post photos soooooooooooooooooooooon hopefully:)

Condo Wondo

I am not sure if you can think WAY back and remember when I started condo hunting...well..the hunt has been still going on for the past 6 months or so. Basically I entered into a short sale (which is SOOOO not short) and it is finally coming to and...or at least I hope!! Which is ironic because I was seriously going to call my realtor this week and be like, dude, I can't take it anymore, get me out of this contract! But he called me instead and told me the end is hopefully in sight.

So I hope I am not jinxing it, but I will hopefully be closing in the next couple of weeks!

Now to search yard sales for cheap furniture to furnish the place..lol.

Quick Vacation Update

I am barely awake to write this, because I got up at 4AM today to drive John to the airport. And because I was convinced that if I took a nap, I would not be able to sleep tonight and therefore not want to get out of bed in the morning for work, I did not take a nap. So even though it is 6:45PM, it feels like 11 PM..lol.

So vacation was great. We did get some sun shine the last few days but before that torrential downpours dampened our spirits. Because of the down pours the lake rose to new heights, reached over the wall and completed flooded the lawn. So basically we could launch the boat from our stairs. See photo below...

In other news, John ran the "Four on the Fourth". Which is four miles ran on the Fourth of July...lol... I did not run the race but he did great and finished like a champ!

I spent WAY too much money. We hit up New Balance and also North Conway on the rainy days. When the sun was out, I basically took advantage and sat out covered in sun screen.

We slept hostel style in the new unfinished house..it was really fun. Especially since we go to sleep on the new mattresses while the parents slept in the cottage.

We also squeezed 11 people on the pontoon boat to take the ride to Naples to see the fireworks. That adventure is a blog on it's own..lol..but the boat stayed a float (sort of) we ran out of gas, but were saved and we got to see the fire works..lol.. it was also like 2 degrees and sitting in the front of the boat we got soaked, so that was awesome too.

Overall a great vacation. I am sad to see it end:(

A blog update, WHAT?!

Ok, I know...I am guilty of not writing a blog for about...almost....4 months now? Honestly it feels like much longer than that. Anyway, a lot has happened since my last blog about Twilight.

A small update on the condo. I am still waiting on it. This short sale is turing out to be a very very long sale. A little over a week ago, my realtor called to tell me that the deal was going to go through. That the bank wanted to change a bunch of things in the contract but he talked them out of it. At that time, he told me that would call me the next day and that it would most likely be that the condo was MINE. Well...it's been a week since that day and still nothing. Oh well, if it doesn't go through soon I am seriously going to tell them to forget it and to give my down payment back so I can start looking for another place.

John proposed on May 15th!! We had been talking about it for a while and with money really really tight, I knew that he would be giving me his grandmother's ring. So I knew it was going to happen that weekend, but he couldn't wait and asked me to marry him almost as soon as he walked in the door that night. He was so cute and the ring is gorgeous! I had it on for the past month and half, but finally parted with it this week so that the center stone can be tightened. I miss it!!! We have set a date of June 6, 2010 and I am the worst procrastinator in the world, so the planning is going very slow. But at least we have the date, right?

I am currently at Camp Ghetto for the week, trying to relax. I am hoping to update my blog at least one more time before I leave. It's funny how much more time you have when you are on vacation!!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July. I have some photos that I may upload when I get home.

Missed you!!

Twilight...yes, I gave in....

Even since I heard of the Twilight series books last summer I was very tempted to read them. I actually purchased my friend the last book for her bday. She tried to convince me that I HAD to read the book, that I would love it! So, I said that I would but really didn't make an effort to purchase or read them.

The movie came out and I figured I love Buffy and Moonlight and all other Vampire shows, so I figured I would go see it. I thought the movie was awesome so Michelle an I each bought 2 books of the series for Christmas and we decided that we would read them.

Well.....many months have past and I just started to read them. And quite honestly, I can't put them down!! I am already on the third book, I am obsessed..lol..I even dragged John to the movie this past weekend for the second time....LOL!

So I am on the fourth book and I am actually sad that I don't have another to read after! Maybe I will start the series over again!!

Anyway, I gave in! And I don't regret it!!

Yay for President's Day!

Even though I am a tab bit jealous of all the teachers out there who have this entire week off, I am very happy that I have today off! Being able to sleep in on a Monday, get up go get iced coffee and relax it totally awesome! I am trying hard not to think about the pile of work that will be waiting for me tomorrow!:)

I did have a great weekend overall though. I woke up on Saturday and 2 dozen roses and chocolates were delivered to my door. That night I dragged John to the Phil Vassar concert which was totally awesome! I had so much fun and I think I am in love with Phil..hehe. Sunday Michelle and I rocked out Confessions of a Shopaholic which was very cute and funny. And right now, we are watching Ellen on DVR with our DD iced coffee.

In other news, I have pretty much given up my search for a condo/house or place to buy. Although it is a buyer's market, the sellers are not selling because it's not a seller's market. So pretty much there aren't many places on the market that I am interested in seeing...never mind buying!

That's all for now. I will update again later:)

A quick vent about shoveling yesterday...

Just and FYI, if you live on a major street and there was a large snow storm followed by torrential down pours...if you are shoveling in the pouring rain....you WILL get killed by tidal wave of street water every time a car goes by....just an FYI ....and part of the reason why I was soaked from head to toe yesterday after shoveling.....

The Story of My Cell Phone....and some shoveling in there too

So as many of you know I don't tend to have good luck with cell phones and last weekend and this past week definitely proved that correct. I will start with last weekend when Michelle and I were shoveling the drive way. She had grabbed my cell phone and put it in her pocket and we started to shovel. All of a sudden I heard her say, "uh oh" and I noticed my lovely cell phone in the street in a puddle:( She said that it worked and we continued to shovel. That evening I noticed that my cell phone just wasn't acting right and as the night went on, it started to not work at all. We ended up going to Verizon where the dude there tried to fix it for about 45 minutes and then ordered me a new cell phone. Mind you we never told me them it was in a puddle.

Two days later my new phone came and everything was great. UNTIL, two nights away. I must have left a small glass of diet coke on the table behind my bed and either I or my cat must have knocked it over. Not knowing this, I put my cell phone on this table. Several minutes later I picked it up and it was soaked!! I immediately took the battery out and put it back in...and it didn't work!! I was about to jump out the window.

At this point I would have tried anything. Prayed that it would be OK. Then I remember what my friend Sarah had told me that she read in Women's World. That if you get your cell phone wet, shut it off and put it in a bowl of rice. The rice would some how suck all the moisture out of the phone. At this point is about 1 AM and I dumped all the rest of my whole grain rice into a bowl and put my phone in it. Then I prayed.

I woke up around 5 AM (not sure why) and decided that I needed to see if it worked. I put the battery in and it worked!! It was still acting a little funky, but it turned on and I could make calls and use the Internet..it was a miracle;) By the end of the day yesterday my phone was working as always. So if you get your phone wet....put it in a bowl of rice!!

Another Sunday Night....

So this weekend it didn't snow, very strange considering it seems like it has snowed the last million weekends. But it was good because I got to see 3 condos this weekend and I didn't have to brave any crazy snow storms. Soo...as you can see the condo search continues.

Per the usual, I had phone trouble last week...but I it was still under it's years warranty so I was sent a new one in the mail. yay.

I wish I had more exciting things to write today, but I really don't. I am dreading work tomorrow as usual. haha. I am in pain from working out yesterday. I guess during the week I don't push myself as hard as I should. When I go to the gym with John on Saturday, Sunday I am usually in a ton of pain (which is good I guess.

And Michelle and I are on our second movie of the day...haha...we watched "Sydney White" and now the good ol' Sunday night stand by "Pride and Prejudice".

A Quick Update

So my company gave us a holiday, yippee..no work. So I spent today sleeping in, shoveling (what else is new) and grocery shopping. I love having a day off but they seem to go by so fast and I never seen to get everything done that I want. I am currently playing with my new toy DVR. I am actually not sure why I haven't got this sooner. I mean, seriously...I watched Ellen at 11 this morning, word up!

I other news, I trekked through the snow yet again yesterday to look at another condo. The open house thank god wasn't cancelled. We were the only ones there with the creepy realtor though, so that was awesome. The townhouse was wicked cute and in a great location. It does need a lot of work though, so I am trying to see what the budget will look like for the repairs. The vinyl floor is torn and the paint has seen better days and there are a few other things that were in need. But overall we all liked it. Before I do anything rash, I am going to go see it again, I just need to stop being lazy and contact my real estate agent. Hopefully we can make it there next weekend.

Other than that, I am going to try to continue to work out. I feel wicked guilty because I took the weekend off from working out, so I need to get back on that treadmill today....no way I am hitting the gym today, again, way to lazy..lol.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am going to perhaps get in dry clothes (shoveling wear is still on) and hop onto the couch and chillax!!

Is it summer yet?

Condo search continues.....

As many of you know I have been on the mad search for a condo. Well, I had looked at quite a few and finally found one that I loved and wanted to make an offer on it. I had seen these condos go up for sale last year and I also saw them sell out just as fast. Not that it mattered, as I was not ready mentally or financially to buy one at that time. So anyway, buying a condo by yourself can be very nerve racking....mostly because I have no clue! So I met with my realtor and he spent almost 2 hours explaining the process to me, telling me to not freak out and helping me pick a reasonable starting offer for the condo.

Well..my offer was flat out denied. Yup, the dude that lives there will settle for no less than list price. I know for a fact that he had this condo on the market last August for about $20,000 more and he could not sell it. Now he has it on the market for about $2,000 more than he bought it for. I personally think this dude is on crack considering most real estate is going for $50,000-$100,00 less than it is valued at.

Anyway, I am not giving up...and even though that condo was gorgeous and brand new...I know that I will find something else that fits! I am actually hitting up an open house Sunday...I will fill you in!

First blog of new year

The first blog of the new year should be a resolution blog, no? Well, I have made numerous New Year's Resolutions in the past and I honestly don't remember keeping one, ever! So this year, I am not formally announcing any resolutions, however, I do hope to do a few things this year. I do hope to lose weight in that I am not happy with the weight I am at now. I am not going to put a number on it, but just enough that I don't feel bad about myself any more. I also hope to purchase a house or a condo. I would also like to get engaged, but since that also involves another person in my life, I don't have too much control on that one;)

I am still looking at condos on the N. Shore. Unfortunately anything in my price range is either in the Ghetto or a one room cardboard box. So I had to convince someone to be my roommate. As much as I have said that I would never live with a boyfriend before getting engaged, I am definitely changing my view on this. First off, I am also 30, hello! Second off, I need someone to help me pay for this thing. I am not saying that I want to put him on the mortgage, I am just saying pay some rent to help me pay for the place!!

So far, one condo I liked was way out of my price range and the other one was already under contract. So I am back on the hunt. I am going to try to set up a few other viewings this weekend...so I will keep you in the loop.

As for the weight loss resolution, as I am at the heaviest I have ever been, the motivation isn't that hard. I have been trying hard to work out every day and so far eating pretty healthy too....hopefully it lasts!;)
