Happy Thanksgiving

We have successfully made it through another Thanksgiving!! There were no major mishaps to report, but I did want to wish everyone out there a very happy day!! I definitely ate WAY too much and I actually think I gained 12 lbs today. It is kind of scary to think of all the food that people around the nation ate today, specifically turkey. I mean, who made a tradition where everyone in the country ate the same meal on the same day to give thanks....very odd.

To make it odder...I received a text message from someone that I am not sure that I want to text back today (to be more specific he texted me like 1 min ago while I was writing this blog). I have been avoiding him for weeks because we have had a very odd relationship and I am not sure what to say to him (to brush up on this odd relationship please refer to my blog from 10/10/2005 ). I am currently having an internal conflict as to whether I should text him back or not. I know most of my friends would say NO, but it is still hard when it is on a day when everyone is suppose to be kind and happy....ya know?

I will let you know what I decide to do...;)

The past few weeks....

A few people have commented to me that I have not been keeping up with my blog. Well, my lack of blogging has been completely voluntary. There have been many events in my life that were blog worthy, however I have not had the time or the motivation to put them in writing. I will try to put the past two weeks in this blog as painlessly with as few words as possible.

Last weekend I took a day trip to New York City. This was a work sponsored event and Angela and I decided to take full advantage. To sum up our day, we spent the entire day at Rockefeller Center shopping. We spent some time in Sacs on 5th Ave, we saw the Christmas Tree before the unveiling, we roamed around Tiffany's (where Angela showed me her dream engagement ring), we saw a guy propose to his girlfriend on the ice skating rink, we ate an amazing and expensive lunch, we saw a woman dressed completely in white, I spent $50 at Godiva (ya, I know), and we basically hit up every other store on 5th Ave. It was a fun, long day. I posted a few pictures of that day.....

I know a few of you were worried, but I did visit Market Basket this week as well. Now, it was most definitely bombed, but thank god, not in the literal sense. I know that I was taking my chances by going there, but I really really needed food. I do regret going, because I have never seen so many angry, determined shoppers in my life. But I did come out with some good food and found some great bargains. So for all of those that were avoiding the local Market Basket, feel free to hit it up, you are safe;)

I also received a digital camera for my birthday. I am very excited about this and as you can see I have already taken a few pictures on it. I am still learning how to use it. I tried to email some pictures to people (don't worry, they were NOT dirty..they were actually of Dizzy) and they came out HUGE. I really need to figure out how to size that shit down so when people open the pictures on their computers at home they see more than someone's eye or nostril.

Speaking of birthday surprises....I also received a dozen red roses at my desk at work........

Technology....

I, like many others in this world, am addicted to technology. I may not have all the up to date gadgets but I am obsessed with my computer, my cell phone and everything have to do with them. Take Instant Messenger and my wireless internet connection for example. How cool are these things!I honestly never have to talk to anyone in person or on the phone and I can chat with them literally everywhere! Now at the beginning of this blog I was also chatting with a few people online, I then got a drink (still talking to that person) and used the bathroom (gross, I know...but it's the truth-still talking and actually writing the blog). I then moved back onto the couch in front of the television. At this point, I was writing my blog, talking to two people online, received a text message from one person, and then a call from another and nothing was interrupted. I live alone, yet I am never bored because I am constant interaction with people all the time! AND you don't even have to get dressed for the occasion. Now if I wanted to be a complete IM addict I could get it on my phone too....however, that would be a bit obsessive, NO? ;)~

Will Market Basket be there in two weeks?

Because I hadn't been grocery shopping in some time I decided to hit Market Basket or Ghetto Basket as many of us call it on the NoSho;) Sarah tagged along, which is always appreciated because an extra person to carrier the bags is never turned down. Anyway, we ran through the store and I threw in all the things that a single girl could need (microwave dinners, soup, a tiny carton of milk and some yogurt...there were a few other things thrown in there too;)).

At the end of this journey as we were walking out I saw a middle Eastern gentlemen. He was talking to another fellow. He looked nice enough but as we were passing he was saying " Now not this week, but the week after, this place will be bombed!"...umm..WHAT?!! Now, I have nothing against people of middle eastern descent, however, if they mention bomb this is another story!!

Sarah, looked at me and was like "Dude...did you hear what that guy said!" She was like, "Dude..he was saying that this place is going to be bombed in two weeks!! Now, trying to be the rational person that I am I was thinking that perhaps he was saying that around Thanksgiving this place will be wicked busy, however, Sarah thinks that "Mohammed" may have different intentions.

Sooo..if any of you want to hit up the Market Basket make sure that you hit it up this week or next because it just might not be around the week after!!:)

Budget

SO....after much contemplation I have decided that I need to start over in many aspects of my life. First, although I have done pretty good in the weight loss department, the last few weeks have been rough and I need to get back on track. Second, I need to start working out hardcore again because that has also been slacking. And thirdly, I need to stop spending so much money!

To help with the money situation, last Thursday, Todd helped me come up with a "budget". Now I am going to be honest here, I have never really needed a budget. But since I have moved out out on my own money has been a BIT tight. And to make matters worse I have been spending money to stay happy and spending it on the most ridiculous things! (Umm..ya, I did spend $50 on two hanging plants for my porch...I think some people are still mad at me for that one;) I never realized how much stupid things like groceries, heat and cable would add up in the end! So we sat down and figured out my budget. I wrote down everything that I spend in month and I mean everything..and yes...this number was A LOT higher than my monthly income......sooo Todd made me a new budget to follow to hopefully help me pay my bills and also potentially save.

So far I am finding it quite hard to remember to keep track of all the things that I spend money on and I am not going to lie..it is a lot things. But to make sure that I am not living on the streets in the years to come I am going to need your help....hope you weren't expecting expensive Christmas presents...JK;)
