Pics of the cook out!

West Nile? You must have been to my cook out!

In honor of Independence Day, I thought that it would be kind of cool to have a cook out. I mean, I do have a big backyard that is never used, so the idea seemed perfect. I let all of my friends know of this event a good month in advance to make sure that all could come....well...let met tell you about the cook out...

The first problem came with "the picnic table". Well, I didn't have one. My friend offered me a table that he and his uncle had built and I quickly took him up on this offer. Well...the table never showed on Sunday but finally came on Wednesday...three days before my cook out...a little close..but it did finally made it here.
I stalked up on food and decorations (tiki torches, flags, sparklers) and I set up the day of the cook out. It was suppose to start at 4pm. So... at 4 my sister and I walked outside and waited...and waited...and waited. Now I found this to be funny...we seriously were staring at each other and laughing occasionally to lighten the mood. Michelle looked at me and said, "if no one shows up by 5pm, we are totally packing this shit up and going inside." I agreed.

Finally around 4:45pm...instead of crying..I headed out to the front of the house to flag on coming cars to see if anyone wanted to enjoy a cook out with us. Then I noticed in the distance a familiar car. It was my friend Melissa from work. Now, I was completely embarrassed to bring her to a cook out that has been going on for 45 minutes with no one there...but she was a good sport. The three of us sat there and decided to cook our own burgers at 5:30pm if no one else showed....well..guess what...at 5:30pm we decided to start the bbq. (now mind you, I was promised by two other friends that knew how to use a bbq that they would be there to show me how to use the grill. Now...yes, you got it. They never showed up!!) Soo...we lit the bbq and we made a huge mess. During this disaster Sarah showed up and took over the grilling. We lost one burger deep down into the grill and all the others were a bit..burnt. But ya know..we tried.

Finally a few other people stopped by and it ended up being a good time. I let "the Joels" (the only two dudes that actually showed at the bbq) take over the grilling and it was a good time. Except for one thing. The mosquitoes! Everyone was getting eaten alive by the bugs in the backyard. I thought that I was prepared with four giant citranella candles, but I was wrong. We all had a good time up to that point though;)~Many people were missed that night...some people I am still looking for because they told me they would be there and never showed....hmm....wonder what happened to them?;) JK

Overall a good time. I will attach pics so all to enjoy:)

Random Pics of Dizzy!!

Sunday night...

Sunday nights after a long weekend are always a bummer. This Memorial Day weekend was a lot of fun and I really hate to see it end. I had a lot of plans that were cancelled, some that were spur of the moment and other's that were actually planned; overall this weekend was great. Friday night my friend John and I went to the Red Sox game. After a slight scare that the game might be cancelled, the rain stopped and we got to see the Sox beat Tampa Bay! (pics of the game will be coming up later this week). Saturday I enjoyed the weather with a few friends and then went to a movie, Sunday I also enjoyed the weather and had a cookout at my parent's house and today I had a few things planned but actually had two cancelled but still had plans with a friend during the day so we went to the beach. After that did some cleaning and visited the parents again to watch the sox. And now, I am watching the end of the Sox game and dreading tomorrow. At least it is a 4 day week:)

Jon Knight?

Last night, like a lot of Sunday nights, I met up with my friend Jacyn at Starbucks to enjoy a good cup of Joe. As we were sitting there enjoying our drinks and talking Jacyn caught someone in the corner of her eye. Now this was not just an ordinary someone, this was someone much more than that. It was JON KNIGHT!

She leaned over to me mid conversation and she whispered, "hey, isn't that Johnathan Knight?!" Just those two words for some reason caused both of us to burst into uncontrollable laughter. I am not sure why we thought this was so funny. Maybe because we were the only two people in Starbucks old enough to know who this character was, perhaps it was because he was sitting there acting all cool while his cell phone continually blew up, or because we were actually sitting 4 feet away from a former NKOTB memeber.....

After we laughed for about 5 minutes straight, tears coming down our faces, we finally pulled it together and left the building. Jon and his "friend" probably thought we were insane. I guess Jacyn has spotted him several other places as well like "Nick and Tony's" and "Pier One Imports" where he would purchase lovely candles. So if any one would like a autograph...let me know..I am sure I can track him down for ya;)

Back up and running

In honor of my new computer and because the past two months have been so boring with blogging I am back!

Easter Candy

Now....as you can tell from previous posts...I have cravings for chocoloate once in a while. But the cravings seem to get worse around Easter. There is something about Easter candy that is better than Halloween candy and is WAY better than just the normal chocolate.

Now...I had already had chocolate today..I know...horrible since I am in a constant battle to lose weight (Erin don't worry....remember Chinese FOOOOOD)....however (and I can't believe I am admitting this), today I was about to hop on my treadmill.....when something in my head was thinking about those little chocoloate mini eggs. I convinced myself that I had already done horrible today, took off my work out clothes, threw on some jeans and headed to CVS. While at CVS I purchased a little bag of those devils and also about $25.00 worth of other crap and then came home where I proceeded to eat some of the chocolate.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!

Seriously...back to normal tomorrow:)

Chocolate, long weekends and messed up people

I know, I know...I have not blogged in a while...and I have definitely taken the hint from many of you that I need to update it. I mean...I couldn't possibly go an entire month without blogging, could I?

First of all...I just had a large quantity of chocolate...I know...This chocolate is not going to help me win this "bet" that I have going but it did really make me feel good. I have gone almost two month without chocolate and felt that it was time that I indulge. If you are looking for me tomorrow...look no further than my treadmill..I think that I need to run like 304983084 miles to burn off the bad boy that I just ate;)

Secondly, I still have a smile plastered on my face because even though it is Sunday, my weekend is not over yet. That's right, in honor of the President's ...I have Monday off..woohoo! I might actually go into work to get some stuff done...but because I don't get paid for overtime..I find it to be really pointless...but we will see...Do you think I can move the treadmill to my work for the day..because that is where I will be remember?

And last...there are quite a few people out there that are messed up. I mean, I am not saying that I am not one of them but honestly there are not that many people out there that are "normal". But I in honor of my friend Sarah, I needed to add something here (and I know from experience....) If you want to end a friendship or a relationship with someone you should honestly just tell them...DON'T just ignore them, their text messages, their calls, their everything and think that they are going away. Honestly, it would be a lot better to just tell them that you don't want to be friends with them any longer and although it would hurt, it would be a lot better for the person that you are ending the friendship with. I have been through this and I know how hurtful it can be and I wanted to get a little of her frustration out in my blog. I actually offered to tell this person off for her...he he he...if you think you can convince her to have me do that..please let me know!!!:)

I can't believe it's over...

Wow...did this month fly by! Only 11 months left in the year and 1 month into my New Year's Resolution. Honestly I have been really good about my resolution, although, my goal of losing a shit load of weight by July may be pushing it! Now mind you, I am writing this after I took a hand full of those little candy Valentine's Day hearts with sayings. I guess I needed to write about staying on track because of this.
onth was full of many exciting things I am sure, however, I can't remember half of them, some of them I just should not share with the public and the rest I guess I choose not to share..lol..I promise that next month I will fill you all in on things as they happen. I did have a few interesting sightings and encounters at a local gas station-I know that I will be at this gas station many more times..so I will keep you updated.

And as for next month...there is the ever exciting Valentine's Day. Now I contemplated calling in to work this day because I dread being the only girl in the office without flowers on her desk from that someone special.....but ya know...it definitely makes me stronger....although I can't promise that I won't be jealous. And luckily February is a short month...which means one step closer to spring! It also means that I am one step closer to July, which means that I am one step closer to losing this weight loss bet...so if anyone of you see me eating anything...like say...a candy heart...just remind me that I need to stay on track!!
