I know, it's amazing, I am actually updating my blog! I know it's been a while, I just haven't really been in the mood to blog lately. I haven't even been in the Christmas mood lately, which is really scary for me....I am usually the first person to have carols singing and decorations up...well..I just put them up last week!

So, what have I been up to lately? Well, I have decovered that there is no way in hell that I can afford a condo by myself. Which sucks, because paying rent is basically like throwing money in the trash each week and I feel that being almost 30 I should be looking to actually own something so that I am not paying a mortgage until I am 80. But I can't seem to convince John or Michelle that moving in with me and helping me pay the mortgage is an awesome idea for them! LOL

In orther news, I have finished my shopping and wrapping which is great and I just spent 1 hour outside trying to dig out from the snow storm. At least I don't have to work out today;) I also got out of work yesterday at 1 due to the weather, which is completely never heard of for my work! I am sure they didn't want anything like years past. I know that I have spent many a hour trying to dig out from a foot of snow in the parking lot just to find out that I couldn't make it up the hill!!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday! I have a ton of goals and exciting things coming up in the New Year so I know there will be many posts to come!

I finally realized I couldn't afford a 2-bedroom but I bought a one-bedroom condo! With prices now, it might surprise you what you can actually afford by yourself. I am also LOVING living alone! :)

Looking forward to more posts in 2009! I plan on trying to blog more, too...

Merry Christmas, Katherine!

Well just remember that property taxes, interest payments, private mortgage insurance, and condo fees are also 'throwing money in the trash' each week! and if prices keep falling next year, then you would get to watch the equity created by your down payment get erased as well! But aside from the issue of buying a condo versus continuing to rent, I believe you should question your underlying assumption (which is shared by many) that buying or owning something is a significant life 'accomplishment'. The anxiety and insecurity that many Americans currently suffer from will likely not be resolved permanently by buying or owning anything, despite cultural tendency to believe otherwise!
